AICPA honors Mizzou grad with Elijah Watt Sells Award

New York - Mitchell Morse, a 2016 Master of Accountancy graduate, was honored with an American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) 2016 Elijah Watt Sells Award. This award is given to CPA candidates who have obtained a cumulative average score above 95.50 across all four sections of the Uniform CPA Examination, passed all four sections of the Examination on their first attempt and completed testing in 2016. Morse was one of 58 candidates to meet award criteria, out of more than 103,323 who took CPA examinations in 2016. 

Morse earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in accountancy from MU's Trulaske College of Business. He currently is an associate for KPMG in Kansas City. 

The Elijah Watt Sells Award program was established by the AICPA in 1923 to recognize outstanding performance on the CPA Examination. Sells, one of the first CPAs in the U.S., was active in the establishment of the AICPA and played a key role advancing professional education within the profession.
