Elise Bartley earned her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Accountancy from the University of Missouri and became a Certified Public Accountant. She began her career as an accountant for Ernst & Young in Kansas City, serving audit clients that included companies such as TD Ameritrade, Dairy Farmers of America, O'Reilly Auto Parts, The Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, and the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System. In 2010, she joined Westminster as an Assistant Professor of Accounting.

Professor Bartley has taught a broad range of accounting classes. In each, she focuses on developing communication and teamwork skills as well as using service learning to provide students with unique learning experiences.  In her research and writing, she is known as an outstanding collaborator, working with colleagues from Physics, Exercise Science, History, and Science Education on methods of effective teaching across the disciplines. She is excited to join the faculty at Mizzou and return to her roots as a Tiger. She and her husband enjoy working on their cattle farm with their daughter, as well as water and snow skiing.
