Sima Jannati
Assistant Professor
Sima Jannati is an Assistant Professor in the Finance Department at the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and a Master of Science in Financial Engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic). In 2018, Sima earned her Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Miami.
Jannati's primary areas of research are empirical asset pricing and behavioral finance. Her research focuses on understanding the behavioral determinants of financial decision-making. She is also interested in examining how cognitive biases affect market participants’ decisions. Jannati's articles have been featured in various media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg Opinion, and on National Public Radio and won the outstanding paper award from the Southern Finance Association and the Winemiller Excellence Awards. Since joining Trulaske in 2018, Sima has been teaching Investments to undergraduate students.
