She received her Ph.D. in Strategy and Organizations (with a minor in Econometrics and Statistics) from the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee in Fall 2017. Within these areas, she explores how constituents’ social media engagement and firms’ strategic communications influence organizational activities, such as cross-border mergers and acquisitions, international joint ventures, and bankruptcy. Her work has been published in management outlets including the Academy of Management Review, and she has won several awards, including the Strategic Management Society’s Best Paper award and the Oxford University Centre for Corporate Reputation’s Best Dissertation award. Prior to her Ph.D. study, Dr. Wang worked in a mining firm in China as a strategic consultant and executive assistant.
